The music of Hawaii is a diverse and expansive mixture of traditional and modern styles. One of our favorite Hawaiian artists is Hapa, who perfectly embraces the peacefulness of Maui. The serenity of the group’s music comes from the oli (chant), mele (song), movements of the hula, along with the presence of guitar. And one of our favorite Hapa songs? That’s a hard one, but Ka Uluwehi O Ke Kai is definitely at the top of most lists, including ours:
